Whether you are a complete beginner, or someone who would just like to make this simple patchwork quilt and have fun, this promises to be a great experience.
You can choose to make this quilt in a day which is quite an intense, or you can make it over two days for a more relaxed experience. Ring to book the days you would like 07805 498002.
What to expect:
Arrive with your sewing machine ready threaded, 2 bobbins wound for stitching, and a 1/4 " foot in place.
If you want to rent a sewing machine, ensure you select the option to include a sewing machine. I will help you with threading and bobbins on arrival.
Then the quilting starts!
Make the patchwork and binding from the jelly roll - this is really easy to do and all you need to be able to do is to sew in a straight line.
Bring a packed lunch. Tea, coffee and water will also be available throughout the day.
Add your binding and you have finished your quilt which will measure approx 50" x 60".
What To Bring
1) A jelly roll of your choice with 40 full width of fabric 2.5" strips. I have several in stock if you would prefer to purchase one here
2) Matching thread for sewing your strips together.
3) Wadding measuring at least 58" x 72" in either cotton, wool or 80/20 cotton/polyester. You can purchase this here
4) 3m of cotton backing fabric (44"wide) or 1.5m (108"wide) - sheets are not advised. Alternatively, if you prefer a warmer feeling backing, then 2m of 60" wide fleece or dimple fleece will give you a fabulously soft and huggable backing.
5) Basic sewing kit if you are bringing a machine. If you are renting a machine, I will help with anything you need.
The quilting thread used by the "Quilt Fairy" machine is included in the price.
